Healthcare in Lincolnshire: your experiences and views

This project aims to understand patients’ experiences with NHS healthcare services in our area of Lincolnshire. Your feedback will help us make real improvements to our GP practices and local health services.

About this project

  • The aim of this project is to understand patients’ experiences with NHS healthcare services in our area of Lincolnshire.
  • IMP Healthcare is inviting people who are registered with any of the nine GP practices provided by IMP Healthcare, to take part in an online survey. The survey is hosted on the independent Thiscovery platform.
  • The project has been designed for and with patients in the Lincolnshire area and is being led by IMP Healthcare.

What we’d like to know

  • The personal experiences of people using IMP Healthcare GP practices and local NHS services. This includes what patients think works well and what could be improved, patients’ thoughts on digital health services (like online booking and NHS App) and what matters most to patients when they need healthcare.
  • The insights from the project will help us identify potential ways to improve IMP Healthcare services in Lincolnshire, and shape plans for how these services are delivered in the future.

Before you start

  • To take part you need to be 16 years or over, and either:
    • registered with any of the IMP Healthcare GP practices (See a list of the IMP Healthcare GP Practices).
    • or a family member, carer or supporter of someone registered at a GP practice, such as a child or adult who isn't able to manage their healthcare on their own.
  • You will be asked to tell us about your experiences of using NHS healthcare services in the area, what you think works well and what could be improved, your thoughts on digital health services (like online booking and NHS App) and what matters most to you when you, or the person you support, need healthcare.
  • You will also be asked a little bit about you, including your age range, ethnicity and employment status. Family members, carers or supporters will also be asked a bit about the person they care for.
  • You do not have to answer all of the questions if you do not want to.
  • If you would like to receive a summary of the results and how they are being used or to learn about opportunities to get involved in other relevant projects, we’d be delighted to do this – you can provide your name and email address at the end.
  • You do not have to complete the survey all at once but if you do need to take a break, please use the same device (mobile, computer or tablet) and the same browser to pick up where you left off.
  • Please note that the survey takes about 10 seconds to load.
  • We take confidentiality and data protection seriously. Read more on how we handle your data.

Who is running this project?

  • This project is being led by IMP Healthcare, an NHS Primary care Network (PCN) covering 9 GP practices in the Lincolnshire area. You can find out more about IMP Healthcare on their website.
  • The project will be hosted on Thiscovery, a secure online platform that enables the health and care system to improve and innovate through collaboration. Thiscovery is developed and run by THIS Labs, an independent organisation formed as a strategic collaboration between THIS Institute and The Health Foundation. THIS Labs administers this project for IMP Healthcare.

What does taking part involve?

How do I take part?

  • This project consists of one survey.
  • To take part you will be asked to complete a short consent form to confirm you are happy to take part.
  • The survey will ask you to tell us about your experiences of using IMP Healthcare GP Practices and local NHS services. You will be asked what you think works well and what could be improved, your thoughts on digital health services (like online booking and NHS App) and what healthcare services matter most to you.
  • At the end, we will ask you for some optional information about you, including your age range, ethnicity and employment status (whether you work, study or are retired).
  • Family members, carers or supporters will also be asked a bit about the person they care for, including health concerns.
  • You also have the option to provide your name and email address if you want updates about the research results.

Do I have to answer all the questions?

  • You do not have to answer all of the questions. However, we hope you will answer as many questions as possible, as this will provide the best possible information about your views and experience.

How much time will it take?

  • This survey is expected to take about 10 minutes to complete, however you can take as much time filling in the survey as you require.

Can I take a break part way through answering questions?

  • Yes – you do not have to answer all the questions in one go but if you do need to take a break, please use the same device (your mobile, computer or tablet) and the same browser to pick up where you left off.
  • Once you have completed each page, please press the 'next' or 'submit' button so we receive your responses to that point.

Can I ask for help to complete the questions?

  • Yes. You can ask someone to help you navigate Thiscovery or answer the questions, if you would like. This could be a family member or friend, for example.
  • If you ask for help, please do answer the questions from your own point of view, rather than the views of the person helping.

Is there a deadline for completing the questions?

  • The deadline for completing questions is 17 September 2025. Please do answer all the questions you wish to by this date.

What if I want to stop taking part?

  • If you change your mind about taking part in this project you can withdraw at any time without giving a reason. However, it may not be possible to remove data that have already been submitted and analysed. To withdraw from the project please email help@thiscovery.org.

What are the possible benefits of taking part?

  • By taking part in this study, you will have an opportunity to share your experiences and views on using IMP Healthcare GP services. These insights will help the project team to identify potential ways to improve IMP Healthcare services, and shape plans for how the GP Practices are delivered in the future.

Are there any disadvantages or risks of taking part?

  • You may find answering questions about health and health services difficult. You do not have to answer any questions you do not want to and can stop at any time. If you find taking part in this project distressing in any way, please get in touch directly with us via help@thiscovery.org.

What will happen to the project findings?

What happens to my answers?

  • Your answers will be analysed along with the answers from all other participants and will be used to help identify potential areas for improvement to IMP Healthcare GP services.
  • Findings from the project may also be published in online reports or journals, and publicised on social media. Nobody will be able to identify you in any findings that are published: any quotations used in reporting will be anonymised.
  • Your answers will not impact the care you receive at your GP practice.

How can I learn about the findings of the project?

  • You will be emailed a summary of findings when they are ready, if you have chosen to be contacted for this purpose. You can let us know at the end of the survey, should you choose to take part.

How will my data be looked after?

Your privacy matters to us

Your privacy is important to IMP Healthcare and our team here at Thiscovery. We keep your information safe and secure.

This service evaluation helps us understand your experiences with NHS healthcare services in our area of Lincolnshire. Your feedback will help us make real improvements to our GP practices and local health services.

Who is collecting your information?

IMP Healthcare is doing this service evaluation. We are a primary care network of nine GP practices who want to improve our services for local people.

Thiscovery collects your survey answers for IMP Healthcare. We follow strict rules to keep your information safe.

Your GP practice may have sent you information about this evaluation. They have not shared your contact details with us unless you are contacted directly as one of our patients.

What information will we collect?

Your feedback about our healthcare services:

  • Your experiences using IMP Healthcare GP practices and local NHS services for yourself or someone you support
  • What works well and what could be improved
  • Your thoughts on digital health services (like online booking and NHS App)
  • What healthcare services matter most to you

Basic information about you:

  • Your age group and ethnic background
  • Whether you work, study, or are retired
  • If you have long-term health conditions
  • How confident you are using technology

For family members, carers and supporters

  • You will also be asked a bit about the person you support, including who they are (e.g. a child or family member) and health concerns.

Important: Information about ethnicity and health conditions gets extra protection under data protection law.

Your contact details (optional):

  • Your name and email address
  • Only if you want updates about improvements we make

Important: We don't collect your name during the survey. But the mix of information you give us might make it possible to work out who you are.

Right to withdraw: You can stop taking part at any time and choose not to answer any questions.

Why can we use your information?

For your feedback: IMP Healthcare has a legal duty to monitor and improve NHS services. This evaluation helps us do this job better for our patients and local community.

For special category data (health, ethnicity and disability information): We need this to understand how different people experience our services. This helps us plan better services for all communities and reduce health inequalities across our nine GP practices.

For your contact details: Only if you choose to give them to us. You can change your mind at any time.

How will we keep your information safe?

We keep things separate:

  • Your contact details are kept separate from your survey answers
  • Your survey answers use a number instead of your name
  • This means we cannot link your name to your answers

We use secure systems:

  • All information is encrypted (scrambled) and stored safely
  • Only the evaluation team can see your information
  • We follow NHS security rules
  • We use certified deletion tools when we remove data

Data analysis and transfer:

  • Thiscovery will analyse your feedback and create a report for IMP Healthcare
  • After completing the analysis, Thiscovery will securely transfer your feedback data to IMP Healthcare
  • Once IMP Healthcare confirms they have received the data safely and all necessary checks have been made, will delete their copy
  • Your contact details are transferred separately if you choose to provide them

Important: Sending information over the internet is never 100% safe. We do our best to protect it, but we cannot promise complete security.

How will IMP Healthcare use your feedback?

Making direct improvements to our GP practices:

  • Improve appointment booking systems across our nine practices
  • Enhance digital services like online consultations and the NHS App
  • Better coordination between our practices
  • Improve communication between patients and healthcare staff
  • Plan new services based on what patients need most

Service planning across our primary care network:

  • Understand which services are working well across different practices
  • Plan new community health services and pharmacy services
  • Improve mental health support and services for people with long-term conditions
  • Develop health and wellbeing hubs bringing together different services
  • Plan services in community locations outside traditional medical settings

Quality monitoring and improvement:

  • Track how well we're doing compared to other primary care networks
  • Report to NHS England and local commissioners about our performance
  • Meet our obligations under the NHS Constitution
  • Address health inequalities in our local area

Your feedback will be combined with everyone else's. No one will be able to tell which answers are yours.

Who will we share your information with?

We will share with:

  • IMP Healthcare clinical and management teams across our nine practices
  • Local NHS commissioners and integrated care systems
  • NHS England for primary care monitoring
  • Care Quality Commission (CQC) for practice inspections

We will not share with:

  • Individual GP practices
  • Companies for marketing
  • Insurance companies
  • Anyone who might identify you from your feedback

If you give us your contact details, only Thiscovery and IMP Healthcare will contact you about the evaluation and service improvements.

How long will we keep your information?

Your survey answers:

  • Thiscovery keeps them for 24 months after the project ends
  • IMP Healthcare keeps them for service improvement purposes (usually 5-7 years)

Your contact details:

  • Deleted immediately if you ask us to remove them
  • Deleted when you haven't been active for 24 months

Research summaries:

  • May be kept forever to help plan NHS services (but these won't identify you)

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Stop taking part at any time during the survey
  • Skip questions you don't want to answer
  • Ask to see what information we have about you
  • Ask us to correct wrong information
  • Ask us to delete your contact details (we will do this immediately)
  • Complain if you're not happy

Important:

  • If you don't give us your contact details, we might not be able to remove your survey answers later. This is because we won't know which answers are yours.
  • Once we transfer your data to IMP Healthcare, we cannot get it back or delete it from their systems.
  • IMP Healthcare will use your data for ongoing service improvement, which may limit their ability to delete individual responses.

Your healthcare will not be affected by taking part or not taking part in this research.
